The 20 days Everest Three Pass trek is for bold adventurers seeking intense excitement in mountain wilds.

You will reach Renjo La (5,435 meters), Cho La (5,420 meters), Kongo La (5535meters), Gokyo Ri (5,357 meters), Kalapathhar (5545 meters), Everest Base Camp (5,380 meters), and Chukung Ri (5550 meters) on Everest three pass trek.

Renjo La is one of the popular high pass trekking in the Everest Region. On the way to Renjo La, you will reach viewpoints from where you can get a glimpse of the roof of the world, Everest. The trials of Renjo La are believed to be used by the Sherpas of the late fifteenth century. From the Renjo La pass, you will see giant Mt Everest and oligotrophic Gokyo lakes in a single frame.

Everest Three Passes Trek Route And Trail

The trek begins from Lukla. After crossing over Phakding and Monjo, you will be spending a good time of two nights at Namche. Rest is required as you need to properly acclimatize to go towards the higher altitude.

The three weeks long trek continues through Phakding, Monjo, Namche, Tengboche, and Dingboche to reach the high passes. While holding the curiosity to behold the beautiful destination, the natural wonders and local culture will make you feel truly blessed during the journey to Everest Three Pass Trek. You will encounter stunning Khumbu Valley, Imja Valley, Dusa Valley, Khumjung-Khunde Valley, Thame Valley, and Gokyo Valley which offer a splendid view of the four highest mountains of the world. Who can join the Everest Three Passes Trek?

01Day

A representative from Regulus Treks and Expedition will be there to welcome you to Nepal at Tribhuvan International airport. He or she will escort you to your hotel where you can freshen upl. Take rest for a while and you can visit our office to get details on the trek. Regulus office is in Thamel, a popular tourist hub. Also, there will be a welcome dinner arranged for you where you can enjoy a delicious Nepali meal. So, you can choose to meet directly in the evening as well. .

02Day

The day is all about visiting different UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in Kathmandu. You will visit Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa. Heritage Sites. Boudhanath is the biggest stupa in the world. After the day out, today we will go Regulus office to have a quick brief on the trek and also get introduced with other fellow trekkers and guides.

03Day

You shall get up early morning to proceed towards Lukla. It will be an interesting flight to Lukla as you will be flying near and around tall peaks in a Twin Otter plane. The trek begins immediately after you land in Lukla. The destination for today is Phakding. From Lukla, the immediate target is to reach Cheplung village from where we can get a glimpse of Mt Khumbila (1890 feet). Cheplung  you will walk towards Phakding where you will accommodate for today.

04Day

The trek begins the early morning after breakfast. You will walk alongside the Dudh Koshi River. Accompanied by the magnificent views of Mt Thamserku (21.675 feet), you will cross more bridges and reach the gate of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. Here your trekking permits will be checked. Further walking takes you to Jorsale village. This is the final village before Namche. You could take rest, take tea or drinks and proceed towards Namche. From Namche Bazaar you will get beautiful views of the Himalayas including Lhotse, Everest, Tawache and other mountains. You will stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.

05Day

This day is scheduled for acclimatization. You can take rest and also it is better to take short hikes during the day so that you keep up your stamina for the next day. Short hiking around Namche will take you to viewpoints from where you can see amazing mountains around. Also, while coming back to the accommodation, you will visit Khumjung Monastery and Hillary school. You will also be taken to Tourist visit center near the headquarter of Sagarmatha National Park where you will get information related to Everest climbers, history of Sherpas and also flora and fauna found in the region. You could also buy last-minute essential before proceeding as Namche Bazaar has a good market where all trekking staff are available. Today you will stay at Namche Bazaar.

06Day

The trek starts with a convenient trail to Phunki Thanga. The following destination is Tengboche village which has the largest monastery in the region. The monastery is within the National Park. Walking up to the monastery will reward you from amazing views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, and Lhotse. We try to reach the monastery by 3:00 in the afternoon. At this time we will also be able to watch a religious Buddhist Ceremony. Today, the accommodation is in Tengboche.

07Day

The initial trek takes you to beautiful and lush forests filled with birch, conifers and rhododendron trees. Going along with the beautiful views of Mt Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam, you will continue walking towards Debuche. In Debuche, you will cross the Imja River and move towards Pangboche. From Pangboche Monastery you will see mountains more clearly. You walk forward towards Imja valley, pass the Lobuche river to reach Dingboche. The Imja River flows directly east of the village. Today, you will stay at Dingboche.

08Day

A popular stop or trekkers, Dingboche is on the way to Mt Everest, Ama Dablam or Imja Tse. Views in this village include an array of fields protected by stone walls. The stone walls protect the barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from the cold wind and grazing animals. Today to you will be staying at Dingboche for acclimatization. You shall do a day hike to Nagarjun hill. Walking up to the hill will reward you with amazing views of Lhotse, Charlotte, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Tawache and others.

09Day

The initial trial crosses through stone-walled fields and Imja Khola valley. Then you will enter glacier moraines near the towering Himalayas. You will continue walking till  Bibre.  Across the valley are the beautiful Ama Dablam and the Amphu Labsa mountains. This trial is divided by the icy stream. After walking around one and a half hour you reach Chhukung. You will have your lunch there. After this, you will walk towards Chhukung Ri. Here you can walk up the steep terrain, which is not so difficult at this part. Reach the top, and get a close view of Ama Dablam and Amphu Labcha peaks. You will be going back to Chhukung for overnight stay

10Day

Today you will start early in the morning to reach a high altitude. This will be your highest point on the entire trip. Your target of the early morning trek is Kongma La pass. There are two option, either you can take a trial over hill, northwest of Chhukung over Nuptse Glacier moraines or walk back to Bibre We can either take a trail over a hill which is to the northwest of Chhukung over the Nuptse Glacier moraines or we can walk back to Bibre  and catch the trial above Niyang Khola. You will see Buddhist prayer flags on the top of the pass. The trial is challenging and the final trial is more challenging. After climbing the moraine, you will go north through Khumbu Glacier. Your overnight destination for today is Lobuche.

Note: Trekking through Kongma La is optional. If we do not want to tackle the strenuous Kongma La pass today and want to go directly to Lobuche from Chhukung, we can do that too.

11Day

The early trek takes along the adjacent moraine of Khumbu Glacier. When you walk further you will get to see the northern edge of Mt Everest. You will also get a closer glimpse of Pumori, Nuptse, Mahalangur, Khumbutse, Lingtern and other mountains. After reaching Thangma Riju after some ascent, we will get to see a panoramic view of elevated mountains from here. From here you shall go down towards a steep trail up to the top of Changri Glacier. After reaching Gorakshep, you will be surrounded by the Himalayas. Today, we will also go to Everest Base Camp passing through rocky dunes. From the Base Camp, you will get clear views of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains. You will spend today’s night at Gorakshep. .

12Day

The trek start really early this day as our target is to see the sunrise from Kalapatthar. Yes, the goal is to see the sun rising from Mt. Everest. As you have to walk out in the dark and cold temperature, prepare yourself with warm clothes. Also, as the weather is unpredictable in the higher altitude, the chilly winds can always hit you, As the trek continues, the elevated mountains Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse come closer. Everest and Nuptse look high above. Several hours of uphill finally takes to the top of Kala Patthar. The view is amazing, you will get close up view of Mt Everest and other neighboring peaks. After spending some time at Kala Patthar, you will head to Lobuche. The trekkers who are going to Everest Base Camp today will start early as the Base Camp is far from Kala Patthar. Both groups will be having lunch together.

13Day

Early morning we begin from Lobuche towards downhill. The trial followed runs alongside the Khumbu Glacier. There are two divided trials. You will be choosing the trial on the right. During this walk you will see amazing view of Awi peak and also get to see tombstones in the distance. Passing all these, you will ascend to reach Dzongla. In this trial, you will Chola Tsho Lake nearby. You will reach another lake after a while. Prior to reaching Dzongla, you cross the Chola Khola. Today’s night accommodation is at Dzongla.

14Day

The more you climb, more the views are distinct. You will see the Cho La Lake appearing near. Ama Dablam appears just in front over a range of mountains on the south> Similarly, you will find the Cholatse on the west. The climbing here is challenging. Its made more challenging by rocks over some of which you need to climb. The last climb is difficult as the trail curves around a fissure. There are prayer flags and cairns on the top of the pass. 

Certainly, the scenery of the elevated peaks just nearby will be breathe taking experience. The path to climb down to Thangnak is not difficult. It’s a bit long and takes you to the edge of Ngozumpa glacier. Ngozumpa is the longest glacier of Nepal. After you reach another side of the glacier you will see the second Gokyo Lake and other six series of the lake. The further walk takes you to the third Gokyo lake, This night, you will be staying at Gokyo village, which is located at the edge of the lake.

15Day

Today you will wake up the view of incredible mountains just in front of your eyes. Early morning trek is uphill towards Gokyo Ri. As fourth Gokyo Lake is only three km away, you also walk further to this place. After this, you continue towards the fifth Gokyo lake. When you will reach the fifth lake, you will get to see astonishing sight of Everest, Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Lhotse, Nuptse and Makalu, mountains and the huge Ngozumba Glacier. Today’s accommodation is at Gokyo.

16Day

The trek is quite long today. So, to meet our target, we begin early. The trail moves alongside Dudh Pokhari Lake in the beginning. Before descending towards Renjo La pass, you need to walk around two hours. Throughout the trek, you will be able to see Himalayan and Rolwaling ranges. You get magnificent views of Mt Everest from the top of the pass. You will move down towards the stone staircase. Then you will find loose gravel which takes you to Angladumba Tsho Lake. As the altitude is very high, you will also find ice on the trial. This can make your descend scary and risky. You will see Relama Tsho and Renjo Lake while walking here. Then you make a move towards a valley that is closed with giant rocks to Lumde. From Lumde, you need to walk almost an hour yo reach Marlung, which lies on the east bank of Bhote Koshi River. You will be staying at Marlung today.

17Day

While walking from Marulung to Thame you will follow an old route followed by the Tibetan traders. After crossing the Bhote Koshi River and you will descend to Taranga. You will reach Thame after crossing a few bridges. From Thame, you walk gradually on a trail that goes through small villages before reaching Namche Bazar. You will be staying overnight in Namche Bazaar.

18Day

After a short initial descent, you will cross several bridges Dudh Koshi River and its tributaries. The trail here consists of sceneries of open plains, through rhododendron, pine forests. On the distance, you will see the crystal mountain. Walking through Sherpa villages will give you spiritual vibes as they are people who have faith in the Buddhist religion. The Buddhist chant and colorful flags give life yo the rough terrain. The long trek to mountain and its high pass ends today. Overnight in Lukla.

The flights are usually scheduled for the morning due to unpredictable weather in the latter part of the day.
