EBC-Lhasa Tour

Early in the morning we drive to Tribhuvan International Airport to catch a flight to Lhasa. It is an hour long flight to Lhasa with a fantastic view of mountains. A China Southwest Airlines Boeing 757 will take us to Lhasa. The glorious view onboard will make the start of your journey worthy. After arriving at Gongar airport our Tibetan guide will greet tour group and take you forward to the directed journey. To reach the actual city of Lhasa, it is a two hour drive. It is better if you take a rest at Tibetan style Hotel Dhood Gu or Shambala Hotel which is located in Lhasa so that you can maintain your body temperature with the increasing altitude of Lhasa.

Today is the second day of your journey. Today we go to visit Jokhang Temple. This temple is regarded as the most esteemed shrine in entire Tibet. You can even enjoy shopping in Barkor which is the most jam-packed market of Lhasa. Sera Monastery is our next destination. It was built in 15th century which consists of golden roofs and whitewashed ramparts. The monastery is located few miles North of Lhasa. It is a habitat to hundreds of monks. Three to four hours of debate takes place every single day. So, this is something that should not be missed.

One of the significant sites to visit is Potala Palace. This Palace is taken as a revolutionary cardinal of Lhasa. You will always cherish the colossal erection for long time. This palace has been endured here from fifth or sixth century. It was also a home to Dalai Lama on one occasion. Drepung Monastery is the last destination for today to visit. 10,000 monks reside here as well as this Monastery is taken as World’s largest monastery. Throughout the century many buildings are untouched due to its historical and cultural importance. 

Among various sites to visit, the first sites to travel, is Khamba La through regal Friendship Highway. At Khamba La we get to see the awesome view of Nazin Kang Sa. Yes, it an awe-inspiring view. Moving one step ahead we arrive at Karo La. It is a highpass bounded by astonishing glaciers. We will conclude our day in Gyantse. We happen to spend our night in a hotel.

Today morning we will go to visit Gyantse Dzong. This fort was built during 14th century. This site makes you get the glorious view of Gyantse and adjoining valley. We will even visit popular Gyantse Kumbung. This enormous structure is regarded as largest stupa in Tibet. Along with the glittering golden dome, the stupa is filled with beautiful architects and canvases. Driving for around 90 minutes we will go to Shigate, the second biggest city in Tibet. This city gives the enhancement of historical, cultural and religious taste. We will go for exploring local market and monastery. Tahilhumpo Monastery is taken as effective Monastery in all Tibet. Exploring this site gives you extreme pleasure. You feel as if you are witnessing the ancient Tibet till date. We will spend a night in Wutse or Mansarovar Hotel

Travelling through Friendship Highway we witness desert plateau. It is taken as an almighty backdrop in Tibet. Once you pass through small village of Lhatse we cross Gyatmso La. It is the highest pass on our journey. Crossing Gyatmso La we come to the plane area. We get to see many nomadic herders, monasteries and wonderful scenery. We will spend the night in Hotel Quomolongma in Shegar.

Now we will leave Shegar through Friendship Highway. While passing over Pang La on our vehicle we see different Himalayan ranges towards south. The stunning sight from the peak of Pang La mesmerizes everyone. You can even see the gorgeous view from Makalu to Shishapangma. In the noon we will get back to Rongbuk valley. We will see Everest view from here. We will spend our night at Gompa Guest House.

Today we will head towards Everest Base Camp. Carrying a horse carriage we will reach Everest Base Camp in 8 hours. Arriving here, you get to see the breath-taking view of Mt. Everest. The northern faced Everest looks extra stunning. This beautiful moment will never get erased from your memory. We will have our lunch and linger our further journey through friendship highway. The magnificent view on the way will cease your eyesight. Then we will spend our night at Snow Leopard Lodge in Tingri. It is a high class lodge.

We come to cross Lalung La and Shung La through friendhip highway. Meantime, we leave Tingri behind. The shots you get while crossing these passes makes you feel amazing. You are surrounded by various mountains such as Shishpangma, Cho Oyu, Gauri Shankar and other mountains as well. After our lunch we move from the Tibetan plateau to small village called Zhangmu. It is located at a lower elevation that is why the surrounding here is pure and green. You will spend the night at Zhangmu Friendship Hotel to get relaxed. It is the last night at Tibet.

Leaving Zhangmu in the morning we arrive at the border of Nepal. There is a friendship bridge situated at the border of China and Nepal which is few kilometers away from Zhangmu. Now with a heavy heart we will bid a goodbye to the wonderful journey of Tibet and head towards Nepal. At the immigration control in Kodari you will meet our representative who will help you in the re-entry formalities. The distance we cover to reach Kathmandu from Kodari is only five hours. The included costs are: Hotel on BB basis in Lhasa & best available en route with breakfast, transportation by 4WD land cruiser, flight either to or from Lhasa, guided sightseeing tours with all entry fees, travel permit, Tibet visa & airport transfer.
