Best Time to Visit

If you are planning a Nepal trip this year, do not worry. One can visit Nepal all around the year for a tour. But if you are concerned about the climatic changes, the ideal time to visit Nepal for this itinerary is generally October to December and March to April. During these months, the weather is pleasant with clear skies, offering excellent visibility of the mountains and comfortable conditions for sightseeing and jungle activities. The monsoon season is from June to early September and is generally less recommended due to heavy rainfall and potential travel difficulties.

Visa Requirements

Being a neighboring country with a good diplomatic relationship, no Indian citizens require a visa to travel Nepal. One can enter  Nepal very very easily either by land or by air.

Other foreign nationals require a visa to enter Nepal. You can often obtain a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. It's advisable to check the latest visa requirements for your specific nationality with the Nepali embassy or consulate in your country before travel. Ensure your passport has at least six months of validity remaining and at least one blank page for the visa.

Currency: Can we carry Indian currency? Will it work in Nepal? 

Yes, you can definitely carry Indian currency with you when traveling to any part of Nepal. Though NPR (rupees) is the official currency of Nepal, Indian currency (INR) notes of 100, 500, and 1000 are also commonly used, but the smaller notes, like 100 rupees, are widely accepted, especially in every part of Nepal. Or you can exchange the some currency into Nepalese rupees in border areas. or at the airport as per your convenience.

The local currency is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). Exchange facilities are readily available at the airport, hotels, and authorized money changers in major cities. Please be advised that taking Nepalese currency outside of Nepal is prohibited, so kindly exchange any remaining NPR before your departure.

Tipping

Tipping is customary in Nepal, especially for drivers, guides, and hotel staff. While there's no fixed rule, a general guideline for tips for good service is appreciated.

Dress Code

Nepal is a relatively conservative country, especially in religious sites and rural areas. It's advisable to dress modestly, covering your shoulders and knees, particularly when visiting temples and monasteries. Given the varying temperatures, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and layers.

It's not a huge process to get a SIM card in Nepal for the tourists. It is a quick and easy process for tourists. Just get a form filled out at any authorized SIM card shop or in the Nepal airport upon arrival. You can get a new SIM card for just NPR Rs. 200 with also some internet data packages, which makes your communication easier during your stay in Nepal.
