Chandragiri is connected with the Hindu religion with the holy Baleshwor Mahadev Temple. The Hindu people often visit this holy temple of Lord Shiva for the well-being of their families. The Baleshwor Mahadev Temple complex also consists of idols of multiple Hindu gods and goddesses.

Chandragiri Hill is the best possible destination for those who want to have a day break from the city. Most of the tourists are attracted by this place because of its panoramic mountain view from the view tower, cool environment, good hospitality, and neat & clean restaurants. Most people nowadays have been attracted to the hill for family picnics, weekends with friends  & a short tour of Kathmandu along with the religious visit to the Valeshwor Temple. There is a view tower, restaurant, food stalls, gift stores, banquet, 3D hall as well as an amusement park for children near the temple on the hill

Chandragiri Hills Location

Chandragiri Hills is located in the South West of Kathmandu Valley 7 km away from Thankot, 2551m above sea level. The hill has been in operation since August 2016. The driving distance to reach the bottom of the cable car station from Kathmandu valley is approx 1 hr.

Chandragiri hills Cable Car

The Chandragiri Hills cable car has a gondola lift transportation system. A short cable car ride from Godam, Thankot will take you to the top of the hill. The one-way length of the cable car trip is approximately 2.5km i.e just a 10-12 minutes ride.

Pick up in the morning from the hotel, or your mentioned destination and follow the trip the below one-day itinerary of the Chandragiri hills tour.

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Chandragiri Hills Cable Car Station

Receiving you from the hotel or your pick-up destination we will take a drive approx 1 hr to Chandragiri cable car station. After arriving at the cable car station, we will purchase the Chandragiri cable car tickets for you.  Wait for your turn to board the cable car, it takes about 10 to 12 minutes to reach the hilltop of Chandragiri.

As you look out your cart, you will see the beautiful scenery of the valleys below. The one-way route covers a total distance of 2.5 km. Enjoy the beautiful scenarios, and the lush green wilderness view from the cable car until you reach the Chandragiri Hilltop.

Upon reaching the Chandragiri Hills resort at an altitude of 2540 m you can enjoy the breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley and picturesque view of mountain ranges from there above, take your pictures and enjoy the day at Chandragiri hills. Visit Baleshwor Mahadev temple.
