About Langtang Valley Short Trek 7 Days

Langtang valley, also known as the valley of glaciers is the closest trekking region to Kathmandu valley.

Short trekking to Langtang Valley provides you to view Langtang National Park which is Nepal’s first Himalayan national park.

The mountainscape in the Langtang Valley is spectacular and gives an amazing view of high soaring mountains on either side of the valley. Passing through the Langtang trekking route, you can listen to slow-moving rivers, mesmerizing snow-capped peaks, and quiet grassy dawns along with elevated mountains.

As you climb high and reach the upper part, you will encounter tiny lakes with icebergs floating on them. The shining water of crystalline brightness during the trek will take your breath away.

Birch forest of Kyangjin and Pine Forests of Thulo Syafru of Langtang will caress you with its beauty and greet you with fragrant nature.

Langtang region has been a popular trade route since the ancient and medieval periods. The major inhabitants of the Langtang region are Tamang, Gurung, and Sherpa. Trekking in the Langtang region attracts you to beautiful craftsmanship, costumes, typical traditional stone houses, and beautifully carved doorways.

There are several trekking options for Langtang Valley. The seven days Langtang trek is the shortest one among the other packages.

In the Regulus Langtang Valley Short Trek 7 days package, you will start the journey with a day’s bus ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. The trek embarks from Syabrubesi (2380m). The final point of the trek is Kyanjin Gompa at an altitude of 3900m.

From the beginning of the trek, you will start witnessing farmland, Rhododendron forests, oaks, and pines. Passing the awe-inspiring view, you will walk following the narrow gorge of Langtang River and head upward to Lama Hotel and Langtang village.

The trial keeps going till you reach the large alpine grassland of Kyanjin Gompa where the glaciers meet the meadow.

Langtang region is home to around 1000 species of plants, more than 150 species of birds, and many other species of mammals. Wildlife includes Himalayan Black Bears, Snow Leopard, Wild Dogs, Ghoral, and Langur.

During the Langtang Valley Short Trek 7 days, you will get to see how the locals have renovated the trekking trails which were massively damaged due to the destructive earthquake of 2015. The restored villages of the Langtang region which you will get to see here are beautiful examples of how the people strongly got back to track after the disaster.

During the Langtang Valley short trek, you can also move forward to Kyanjin Ri, which is a day walk from Kyanjin Gompa. From Kyanjin Ri, you can relish the 360-degree views of the Himalayas.

Day 1: Day 1: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft):

Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft): After you let us know about your arrival to Kathmandu, we will come to pick you up from Airport to your Hotel. However, our package only starts from the second day of your arrival. Our representative will come at your door of your hotel at 6.30 in Kathmandu, to receive you before we start the trip. The trip also starts with a drive of around 6 to 7 hours through lush green forest, meandering road through the hills and gracefully flowing riverside, like the way to Pokhara. After breakfast, we drive out along the north-western mountains of Kathmandu. With this you can get ready to witness the delightful Himalayan views and marvel at the unique lifestyle through the terraced fields and rural towns. Enjoy lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before proceeding further to Dhunche. From Dhunche, we go to Syabrubesi.

This is our first day of trekking. Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft) for 6 hours. We follow the Langtang Khola(river) and pass through the thick woodlands. Cross a few suspension bridges. Pass tea-houses. The trail looks steep, but it isn’t that risky and is always exciting.

Trek to Langtang Valley (3,430m/11,253ft) 6 hours. After morning tea, we set out our second day of the voyage. Our trail proceeds along thick woods. During the trial, we can revel in the grand views of the Langtang-Lirung. We pass water factories, watch Chortens, and see stunning hills that have all kinds of engravings on them.

Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft) for 3 hours. After breakfast, we escape the town and pass through yak pastures. Here, we cross the biggest Mani divider in Nepal and cross a few wooden scaffolds as well. Since we are going towards the high elevations, you may begin to feel the thin mountain air. Kanjin Gompa is encompassed by the Himalayas all around. You can go out for a stroll around Kanjin Gompa admiring the ice sheets, ice-falls, and yaks.

Trek to Kyanjin View Point & back to Lama Hotel. Early morning, we visit Kyanji view (4800/16,404ft) for stunning sunrise views. After breakfast, continue to Lama Hotel. Since it is basically downhill, it is 4/ 5 hours stroll from Kanjin Gompa to get to the Lama Hotel. Pass ethnic Tamang settlements who take after religious and social views like the Tibetans

Trek over to Syabrubesi for 4 hours. After breakfast, we trek down to Syabrubensi, which takes a 5 hours walk. Enjoy the simple downhill trail through lush green vegetation. Upon arriving at Syabrubesi, we take our lunch. Since we may have some spare time (depends upon the speed of our walk) on arriving here, you can enjoy the stunning view of this bizarre hill-town.

Syabrubesi to Kathmandu 7 hours. After breakfast, we drive over to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, we transfer you to your hotel. Spend the day at your own leisure, enjoying your much-deserved rest, spending some of your time shopping or visiting sight that you might have missed on your first day in Kathmandu. At night, enjoy a festive dinner.
