Ghorepani - Poon Hill Trek via Ghandruk is a perfect trek for the people who prefer short yet enjoyable treks. This expedition offers a diversity of superb natural beauty from Ghorepani Poon Hill tower at 3210 meters. You will see the fabulous views of the ‘Fishtail’ Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Annapurna South (7,219m) and numerous other peaks.

The name Ghorepani in Nepali means horse-water as this place is a significant campsite for traders before it became a trekkers' stop. Ghorepani is an attractive place with small shops and stalls for selling local products and craft. To catch the wonderful magnificence of sunrise over the Himalayas, the trek makes an early morning climb along the steep trail to the viewpoint of Poon Hill (3,200m). Poon Hill (3,210m/10,529ft) is a great position from where you will enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the Mustang and Pokhara valley. You will also get the chance to view the more than twenty highest mountains including the close-up views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Poon Hill is a hill station which is popular for viewing sunrise and sunset. The picture perfect scene of sun rays falling on the surface of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri cannot be described in words. This trek is also popular with the name 'Annapurna Sunrise Trek'. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek starts from the village with the river bank of the Modi River after short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul.
