Everest Three Passes Trek is the ultimate expedition for the seekers who are passionate adventurers. The 3 passes trek is the most challenging & adventurous trek in the Everest region as the trek will take you through the renowned three passes of Everest namely, Renjo La pass (5,340m/17,520ft), Cho La pass (5420m/17,782ft) and Kongma La pass (5,535/18,159 ft). Along with the famous three passes, the trek will also lead you to Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, Sherpa village of Khumjung and also the immaculate turquoise waters of Gokyo Lake. The route takes trekkers to the Nangpa La Valley, the Sherpa village of Marlung and the monastery village of Thame.
This trek gives an outlook of countryside Nepal. The flora and fauna and the culture that you notice while in this trek is fascinating. In around every 300 to 800m the vegetation changes here which you will notice while on the trek. You will be witnessing different species of rhododendron, at least 10.
Snow leopard, Himalayan black beer, musk deer, blue sheep are common wild species found here.
Another great attraction on the way is the Kalapatthar - a mountain of black rock. The Kalapatthar Top is one of the most sought after vantage point to see Mt. Everest. Although one has to cross three passes, there is no such technical climbing. So, any person with good fitness can enjoy the trek effectively.
The Journey of Everest High Passes trek begins with a sightseeing day in Kathmandu valley. This includes a concise exploration of the temples, shrines, bazaars and restaurants of Kathmandu. Next is mountain flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. The following day treks up through the classic route to the Sagarmatha National Park with the mesmerizing view of Dudh Koshi river.
After reaching the summit of Kongma La, next move is towards the Everest Base Camp. The trek to the viewpoint of Kalapatthar is followed by the climb through Cho La. This climb takes to the turquoise lakes at Gokyo. Then the way towards the next great pass, the Renjo La. After a night in Marling via Nangpa La, the route move towards Thame. Following the route, the trip gets back to Lukla for a flight to Kathmandu.

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Regulus Treks & Expedition receives you at Tribhunvan International Airport and drive you to hotel. If your arrival is at appropriate time then you can enjoy leisurely walk in the streets of Thamel. It is a prime destination for foreigners. It is said that Kathmandu visit is incomplete without strolling in this part of the city. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 02Kathmandu sightseeing From the second day of your arrival starts our trip mission. Today you visit Kathmandu, also known as city of temples with our guide. Basically there are four major touring sites in Kathmandu. They are: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambhunath Stupa and and Bouddhanath Stupa. And the main part is these all four sites are listed in World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
You will be introduced to your guide by Regulus. You can have good conversation with him regarding the upcoming trip. You can enjoy the night life of Thamel which completely depends on your wish.
Day 03Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m) by flight / Trek to Phakding (2,610 m) Definitively the morning is good today as you will fly to Lukla enjoying scenic beauty of mountains. The harmonious mountain will capture your heart. It is around 30 minute flight from Kathmandu. There are lots of monasteries in Lukla and if interested you can visit there.
We begin our trail on foot from here and it ends at Phakding for today. The team of porter guide will join you from here. The way to Phakding is so beautiful that you will remember it for rest of your life. Hills, green lush vegetation and streams will surely mesmerize you. We will put off at Phakding at night.
Day 04Phakding to Namche Bazar(3,440 m) We follow the route of Dudh (Milk) Koshi River to arrive at Namche Bazaar. Crossing pine, fir and rhododendron forests we arrive at Monjo. The entrance to Sagarmatha National Park is Monjo. Furthermore, after walking for few more hours we reach Namche Bazaar where we put off tonight. Namche is a big market of Khumbu region. People of different ethnic group especially, Sherpa inhabit here.
Day 05Acclimatize at Namche Bazar Acclimatization means adjusting body temperature with increasing altitude in order to avoid altitude sickness. Altitude sickness can be severe so we take rest at some places. But, at the same time we also enjoy the day. Today we visit Khumjung. The monastery at this place lures many tourists as there you see skull of yeti. It takes three hours to reach here. We get back to Namche and spend night in the same tea house where we did put off earlier.
Day 06Namche Bazzar to Thame (3792m) It is comparatively easy trail today. We proceed after breakfast. We walk along Bhote Koshi River. Following few ups and down wefinally arrive at Thame where we put off tonight.
Day 07Thame to Marulung (4210m) Thame to Marlung is comparatively short walk. Enjoying the view of mountains we reach Nagpa Valley where there is located Marlung. We will spend night in a tea house at Marulung.
Day 08Marulung to Lungden (4380 m) Today’s walk is truly mesmerizing. It is a kind of walk in the ocean of mountains. You are surrounded by several mountains and the view is awe-inspiring. The more you walk the more you love it. After few hours of walk we finally arrive at Lungden where we will spend today’s night.
Day 09Lungden – Renjopass/Gokyo (5400 m) It is interesting and uphill walk. The vistas of mountains will capture your heart. We finally, arrive at Renjo La Pass. It is at an altitude of 5420 meter from sea level. From the peak of the pass we will observe Nangpa Valley which appears beautiful. Mount Everest and Makalu tower in front of us. We further move ahead to arrive at Gokyo where we put off at night.
Day 10Gokyo - Hike to Gokyo Ri (5357 m) It is acclimatization day today but we will hike to Gokyo Ri. Gokyo Valley is truly one of the best valleys of the world where you will completely lose yourself. Its beauty is mesmerizing and heart capturing. We can climb Gokyo Peak too, if interested. We will spend night at Gokyo.
Day 11Gokyo to Thaknak (4690m) Amid beautiful mountains we cross Gokyo village. The view of Gokyo Valley from Ngozumba is so beautiful that you will remember it throughout your life. We arrive at Ngozumba glacier and from there Thaknak is few hours away. Here we put off at night.
Day 12Thaknak-Cho La (5367m) -Dzongla (4830m) In order to reach Cho La we wake up early in the morning so that bad weather may not disturb our trail. We follow narrow glacier to arrive at main glacier. You get beautiful view of Cho La Pass from here. You get the view of Baruntse, Ama Dabalam, and many other peaks from the pass. The walk here is very careful as there is crevasses. After few hours of walk we arrive at Dzongla where we will spend night.
Day 13Dzongla to Lobuche (6,119 m) It is comparatively a long walk today and we beign it early in the morning. We come across mountains and some picturesque view. The view of Tawache and Cholaste on the way will please you. You halt at Lobuche at night.
Day 14Lobuche to Gorakshep (5184 m) - Everest Base Camp (5,380 m ) – Gorakshep You will realize your dream today. We will walk towards Everest Base Camp. It is a place where mountaineers prepare themselves before summiting the peak—Mt. Everest—the highest Peak of the world—8,848m. In the noon we descend towards Gorakshep where we will halt at night.
Day 15Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar (5,600 m) - Lobuche (6,119 m) In order to enjoy sunrise we walk early in the morning towards Kalapatthar. We need to be very careful as the walk is steep. Located below Mount Pumori, Kalapatthar is a black rock where mountain surrounds you at 360 degree. We walk towards Lobuche where we will arrive at noon and here we will spend our night.
Day 16Lobuche - Kongma La (5,535m)– Chhukung(4730m)Lobuche - Kongma La – Chhukung
Day 17Chhukung to Tengboche (3,860 m) It is around five to six hours walk approximately. We leave Everest behind us and walk towards Tengboche. It is popular for monastery. The largest monastery of Khumbu reigon is located here. You will visit this monastery where you get chance to see skull of yeti. We will spend night at Tengboche.
Day 18Tengboche to Namche Bazzar (3,440 m) It is descend walk today. We move above Dudh Koshi River. The path to Namche is encircled by other Himalayas. We see different types of birds and animals on the way. Danfe (national bird of Nepal) is common on the area. We will also see Himalayan thar en route. We will spend night at Namche Bazzar.
Day 19Namche Bazzar to Lukla (2,860 m)It is long walk today. But the scenic beauty and wonderful landscapes will make your trip exciting. You will enjoy Lukla bazaar and buy things as a souvenir for your friends and families. Overnight in Lukla.
Day 20Lukla to Kathmandu Today we catch flight to Kathmandu. It is a beautiful scenic flight of around half an hour. In Kathmandu you will get some time to roam around thamel where you can buy gifts for your friends and family. Today Regulus will offer you farewell dinner.
Day 21Departure Your trekking ends here today. We will drop you at airport three hours earlier to schedule flight. We are thankful to you as you gave us opportunity to serve. See you soon!
