 Mt. Everest also known as ‘Sagarmatha’ in Nepal is situated in eastern region. It is located at Solukhumbu district. Various peaks stretching from 3,300 to 8,848m above sea level, lies in Khumbu province. The Everest region is also popularly known as Khumbu Region. Each trekkers & climbers to trek Everest region needs to fly to Lukla Airport from Kathmandu which is the starting point of Everest region/Khumbu region trekking.

All total there are more than 1600 peaks in Nepal and out of them 300 are located in Everest Region. That is why many prefer trekking Everest region. The peaks of Nepal are categorized as Major and Minor Peaks. The peak in between 5500 to 7000m is listed under Minor whereas more than 7000 are put under Major Peaks.  All peaks found in Khumbu Region are not opened for climbing only few are opened for the climbers.

Top mountains such as, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Cho Oyo, Mt. Nuptse, Mt, Cholaste, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Gyachung Kang and most importantly, as a cherry on top, Mt. Everest- highest peak of the world are covered by Everest Region. Sagarmatha National Park guards the entire Everest Region. Sagarmatha National Park is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
