About Everest Cho La Pass Trek

Everest Base Camp via Cho La Pass trek is an extremely challenging and thought-provoking trail of the Himalayas. The trek helps trekkers to have an outlook of various mind-blowing scenes falling in the Everest Region.

Everest Cho La Pass Trek Route

Once we arrive at Namche Bazaar, we head towards Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep, and Kala Patthar. We come a bit backward from Lobuche to Zonglaform. We arrive at Gokyo surpassing Cho La Pass. We climb Gokyo Ri. Spending some time there we come back to Namche via Dole. Climbing Everest does not fall under this trip, but the spectacular view of Everest is purely seen from various angles. The picture-perfect view of Everest from different angles makes every trekker feel as if s/he is in heaven.

Everest Cho La Pass Gokyo Trek

Even though the trek from Cho La Pass to Everest Base Camp is testing, the trek to Everest Region certainly makes you forget all the sufferings of your journey. The trek challenges your stamina as well as your determination. The ups and downs of the trek are not of your comfort level but being an extreme trekker you should be happy that you came to this trekking site. The incredible landscape makes your trip even more interesting as you move forward. In this trekking region, you get to be familiar with the culture of Sherpa, the native people of this region.

During your trek, you follow the famous Everest trail to come across the village of Namche Bazaar. Your extreme fortitude will take you to close Mt. Everest. Your inner strength helps you to boost your confidence for this trip. You feel fortunate when you see the view of beautiful Mt. Everest and other gorgeous mountains. You cannot stay without capturing this beautiful scene in your frame to take back home. The adventurous trek of the Everest region will always be cherished.

Best Time To Trek Gokyo Chola Pass Trek

The best time to trek Everest base camp with Gokyo Cho La Pass Trek is from late May to mid-September. September through November, as well as February through May. This month the weather is good with good visibility. The Base Camp temperatures reach about -6°C during these periods. Trekkers encounter groups of climbers who are preparing for their summit attempts if you trek to Everest base camp via Cho La Pass in late April or early May, The temperatures in this area n between late November and February are around -15°C extremely cold. during the day and even colder at night.

Day 1: Kathmandu – Lukla (2,750m) – Phakding (2,610m)

Early in the morning you head towards airport. The flight scheduled at 6:30 am will take you to Lukla. The air distance to reach Lukla from Kathmandu is of 45 mintutes. You will have a breakfast at Lukla and walk towards Phakding. It is a 4 hours walk to Phakding (2,610 m). In the afternoon, we will move towards Phakding crossing Dudh Koshi where we will spend our night in a lodge. 

    The trek is of about 7 hours to reach Namche Bazaar (3,440m). It is a famous town of Solukhumbu district. The ending three hours of this trek is tough. The gorgeous beauty of nature will make you forget all your pain in the end. Overnight in Namche.

      Today is a day to have a rest in order to adjust your body temperature with the increasing altitude. But we will not stay quiet and go for a hiking. We will explore Khumjung village and come back to our place. Overnight in Namche.

        Today we will reach Tengboche (3,860 m). It is six to seven hours trek. It is a perfect destination to have a glance of Ama Dablam peak and Thamserku in this Himalayan region. Overnight in Tengboche.

          Today we move towards Dingboche (4,250m) . It is at a walking distance of around seven hours from Tengboche. This place is located at an higher altitude. Walking in this area might be omehow difficult. Overnight in Dingboche.

            The second acclimatization day has come. Today we will roam around Dingboche. But during daytime we will plan a short trip to Chhukung valley for refreshment. Acclimatization is very important to rejunivate. More you climb towards high altitude more the trek seems tough.

              Today we come to Lobuche (4950m). Walking for around seven hours takes us to Lobuche. The lavishing beauty of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Ama Adablam is easily seen from here. Overnight in Lobuche.

                Today we head towards Gorak Shep (5,160 m) from Lobuche. The trek is very short of about three hours. You will not feel so exhausted today. Resting for couple of hours we march towards Everest Base Camp in the dusk to get the glorifying sunset view.

                  Waking up early in the morning we trek to Kalapatthar. The trail envelops the distance of five hours. Kalapatthar lies at an altitude of 5545 m above sea level. Kalapatthar is famous as viewpoint to gaze the beauty of Mt. Everest and various other Himalayan range. If you are fortunate enough then you will have an outstanding view of sunrise, which you cannot observe in any other part of the world. You can capture all these moments in your camera. Now we get back to Gorak Shep for lunch. After some time we come to Lobuche.

                    Covering the walking distance of five to six hours we arrive at Zongla (4,740m). Now we cross Chola-La Pass. The only place to spend the night is here at Zongla. You can enjoy the local tea here.

                      We will walk to Chola-La pass (5,483m) and then descend to Thanga (4,500 m). This place is fully covered with snow so you gave to be little careful while passing the track. But during the moderate season the site is absolutely wonderful. You will feel very cold here so no sooner the sun sets you head towards in search of a tea house.

                        Now we move towards Gokyo (4,790m). The walk is comprised of only 4-5 hours distance. We arrive at Gokyo and have our lunch. You can enjoy Gokyo valley. Overnight in Gokyo.

                          We climb uphill towards Gokyo Ri (5,483m). This trek might be one of the most challenging trips of your life. The panoramic view of upper Gokyo Lake, Ngozumpa Glacier and whole Khumbu Himalayas such as Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu (8,481m), Cho-Oyu (8,153m) and Gychung Kang (7,922) looks incredible. Late in the noon we go back to the camp.

                            Today we descend towards Dole from Gokyo. The uphill and downhill track mesmerizes you to the core of your heart. The walk is extremely beautiful and you can even capture this moment in your camera. Overnight in Dole.

                              The trip from Dole to Namche Bazaar is for around six hours. You encounter Khumjung village in the middle of your walk. The view of Ama Dablam fascinates you quite well. Following the trail we get to Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche.

                                You are about to conclude your trekking. On day 16 you trek down towards Phakding. The walking distance from Namche Bazaar to Phakding is about five hours. You will spend a night in Phakding trying some local juice in a lodge for refreshment. 

                                  The last day tour in Everest Region arrives. You will get back to Lukla. After having a lunch you will explore local Sherpa village here. You can enjoy talking to them and know their culture and take it back as a memory.

                                    You wake up early in the morning to catch a flight that takes you to Kathmandu. It is a 45 minutes flight. On the way you can rememorize all the beautiful moment of your trip which will even make you emotional. You will be received by your representative and he will take you to hotel. But this is not the end. It is a beginning of another beautiful trip which you will plan it yourself later because you cannot resist it.
