History of Panchpokhari
Once upon a time, a person called Wuragba Waiba came here hunting. He saw Lord Shiva planting rice. He first thought what a foolish person planting rice even in such a snowy area. He went near but then God vanished at the place where the temple is built. It is said that we can see a plough in the waterfall flowing down from here. So the hunter realized that he had seen Lord Shiva. He didn’t have anything to offer God except the bell of his dog. So he left the belt which can be seen even today

One can get reached via two trails. One trekking starts from Sano Okhreni and another from Bhotang. Most people preferred Bhotang over Melamchi. Trek starts from Bhotang.
