Manaslu trekking portrays the best understanding of human cultures and nature. The site is rich for its natural beauty and Tibetan Buddhist cultures. The rivers, waterfalls, many suspension bridges from wooden to steel, traditional villages, greenery and mountains at backdrop defines the beauty of trekking around Manaslu.

Regulus figured out Manaslu Trek in a bit different manner. The prayer flags flapping in the sky, chortens, prayer wheels and monastery define the natural purity of Manaslu with spiritual blend.

Kids and men in maroon robe signifies that people of this part of the world have deep faith in their religion—Tibetan Buddhism. The purity of the site is clearly depicted in the people. Manaslu region is one of the sites that are still preserving old Tibetan Buddhism which was completely destroyed by the Cultural Revolution of China.

Manaslu Base Camp Trek is something more than enjoyment. Trekking around Manaslu changes your perception of beauty. After being around Manaslu you simply feel that silence is another name of beauty. The peaceful site raises a question to you: “Why did you make this trip so lately?”, "Why did not you think about Manaslu Circuit Trek earlier?"

While on Manaslu Circuit Trek of 20 days you will get chance to witness Mount Manaslu. It is recognized as the eighth highest mountain of the world. It lies at an altitude of 8,163m. During our Manaslu trek we will be upto 5160m (Larkya la) the highest point of our trek in Manaslu.

Mount Manaslu is located in the western-central part of Nepal in Manaslu trekking region near the border of Nepal & Tibet. Mansiri Himal range envelops Mt. Manaslu. “Mountian of Spirit” is English translation of Manaslu. It (Manaslu) is Sanskrit name and Manasa is the root word of Manaslu.

The trail to Manaslu Base Camp begins from Arughat, Gorkha district of Nepal. Following the course of Budi Gandaki River the Manaslu trekking trail goes ahead. It is the same route which people in the past used for trading with Tibet. People then used to exchange goods with salt. The real thrill of Manaslu Base Camp Trek is experienced at Larkya La Pass. The unmatched splendid beauty of the area gives you the meaning of heaven. En route you witness more than 10 mountains of over 6,500m height and few over 7,000m.

A climber from Japan named Toshio Imanishi and his assistant Gyalzen Norbu (Nepali) climbed Mount Manaslu for the first time in the history. They climbed in 1956. Due to Imanishi, Manaslu become first trekking choice among Japanese trekker or climber. Japanese love this mountain so much that they feel it as their own.

Manaslu trek is also known as restricted or controlled area trekking. The government of Nepal opened Manaslu trekking trail for everyone in 1991. Despite the fact trekkers require special permit for Manaslu Trekking. Due to this reason Manaslu trek is also known as restricted area trekking.

Manaslu - A less frequented but equally enjoyable route

Manaslu Region Trekking has come to be known as an alternative to the more popular Annapurna Circuit. We wanted to travel a less frequented route and our trekking company, Regulus Treks, referred us to this less frequented but equally beautiful circuit. We had the pleasure of being accompanied by some of the most accomplished guides and the people and community along the circuit were extremely welcoming and helpful. The region is also perfect for photographers as one can capture beautiful sightings of all kinds - the spectacular Manaslu Mountain, the wildlife and flowers, meandering rivers and the local people of the area. If you love outdoors and enjoy camping and trekking, Manaslu Region Trekking has so much to offer to you. We are very grateful that we had the pleasure of acquiring such a friendly and professional team from Regulus Treks and Expeditions.
