The initial point for Everest Base Camp trek is Lukla. It is at an air distance of around 30 minutes from the capital city, Kathmandu. Lukla airport is taken as one of the most surviving airstrips of the world, is an entry point to the Everest region. It was built by Sir Edmund Hillary. Lukla airport is also considered the world's most dangerous airport.

After reaching Lukla airport our next step is towards reach Namche Bazaar, the trail is followed through Dudh Koshi.  It is situated at an altitude of 3,440m.
