10 days Nepal Tour Itinerary

A representative of Regulus Nepal will receive & greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu upon your arrival and will transfer you to the hotel. If you are fresh enough and not tired from the journey, taking a short break we will proceed to our sightseeing tour to Swaymbhunath (The Monkey Temple) & Kathmandu Durbar Square.  

Swoyambhunath Stupa also known as The Monkey Temple is one of the world’s oldest Buddhist stupas atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley. The highlights of Kathmandu Durbar Square are Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, and Kumari Ghar ( Home of Living Goddess). 

In the evening, you can take a walk over Thamel which is also known as the main tourist hub of Nepal, and enjoy the evening. Overnight at Kathmandu hotel.

Breakfast, and then proceed to the Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour. Visit the UNESCO-listed world heritage sites; Bhaktapur Durbar Square & Patan Durbar Square, and then drive (1 hr) to Nagarkot – situated 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2175m above sea level. It is a most popular destination from where you can enjoy beautiful ‘Sunrise’ and ‘Sunset’ view as well as a panoramic view of a series of mountains including Mount Everest. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast drive  (5 hrs) to Bandipur. Bandipur is a rural Newari town, a hilltop settlement located between Kathmandu & Pokhara. A traditional village combined Newari culture & typical Newari architecture, epic Himalayan viewpoints, mysterious caves, temples & shrines.  Bandipur is an ideal town for lovely countryside walks, local adventure sports, and excellent accommodation. Bandipur is famous for the Newari people and their cultures, one can enjoy cycling towards the rural village to know more about Bandipur.

After breakfast in Bandipur, take a short hike of 30 minutes to the hilltop viewpoint of Tani Mai Temple which will offer you a magnificent sunrise view with a panorama view of both Himalayan peaks and the Marsyangdi Valley.  Then drive to Pokhara, 3 hrs scenic drive along the Trishuli River. 

Upon arrival in Pokhara, transfer to the hotel, and be refreshed. Evening drive to World Peace Stupa to enjoy the beautiful Pokhara city, enjoy boating in Few Lake, and explore Talbarahi temple situated in the middle of the lake at an altitude of 800m above sea level.

Early morning, 30 mins drive to Sarangkot (1600m.) a popular & world's best viewpoint to enjoy incredible sunrise over the Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna range & Dhaulagiri massif. Back to the hotel for breakfast & refreshment. Proceed to the full-day Pokhara city tour. 

Devi’s fall – Devi’s fall is the natural underground waterfall that is situated on the south side of Pokhara.

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave – This underground cave is a habitat with bats and has a Hindu shrine of Lord Shiva, also known as Mahadev (the lord of the lords).

Seti river George – Seti river is famous for its milky white water.

International Mountain Museum – This is a historical museum of the mountains and mountaineers of Nepal. 

Back to the lakeside, here ends your Pokhara city tour. For the rest of your free time, you can explore lake areas, do your shopping, hangouts & return back to the hotel by self walk. Overnight at the hotel.

Morning free time in Pokhara. You can join for some popular adventurous activities like Paragliding, Bungee Jump, Zip flying, or Mountain flight. Then drive to Lumbini (196km), transfer to the hotel, and be refreshed.  Spend the day in Lumbini taking a peaceful stroll around the monasteries and stupas in the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Visit Mayadevi Temple where the Buddha was born under a Bodhi tree. 

Ashoka Pillar, Buddhist monasteries, the World Peace Pagoda, Puskarini or Holy Pond where the Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he, too, had his first bath, & the remains of Kapilvastu palace and the Lumbini Crane Sanctuary are the other sights one must visit while in Lumbini.

Taking breakfast at Lumbini we will continue our drive to our next destination Sauraha, Chitwan (approx 5 hrs drive). Chitwan National Park is one of the most famous wildlife-viewing parks in Asia and is listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Upon arrival to Chitwan, have a welcome drink at the hotel for refreshment, a briefing about the jungle program will be done by the resort manager.; have lunch.

Watch the beautiful sunset from the hammocks of the hotel or go for a leisurely walk along the banks of the Rapti river. Watch cultural programs of the local Tharu community.

You can pick a range of activities to do in Sauraha and Chitwan National Park. Join for the safari activities – elephant back safari or Jeep safari, canoeing, jungle walks, bird watching. You will get to see one-horned rhinos, wild elephants, birds, monkeys, leopards, royal Bengal tigers, and as many as 450 species of birds and animals unique to the Park.  Take a walk to Tharu village surrounding the park & visit the elephant breeding center & elephant bathing center. A canoeing trip on the Rapti or Narayani rivers will make your body relax during this jungle safari tour.

After breakfast, take a scenic drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu (approx 6 hrs drive) with a view of green hills and rivers. En route, you can visit Manakamana temple by riding a cable car. Upon arrival in Kathmandu transfer to hotel and evening free time for personal activities & shopping.

The rest of the time you can explore the missed places of Kathmandu city including the shopping malls, or either can enjoy movies at the cinemas.
